Kudos, Maryland!

Today is an historical day: The state of Maryland is the first in the nation to adopt an official state exercise, and it's one that almost anyone can do: Walk. I've don't think I've ever been to Maryland, but it must be a wonderful place!

How Much Exercise Do You Need?
The CDC recommends:
1.) A minimum of 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per day (such as brisk walking) most days of the week. OR: A minimum of 20 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity (such as jogging or running) 3 days a week
2.) Resistance, strength-building, and weight-bearing activities. Two days a week, incorporate strength training into your routine. Strength training activities, such as weight lifting, maintain and increase muscle strength and endurance. A goal to reach towards is completing 6-8 strength training exercises, with 8–12 repetitions per exercise.

This time of year, here are some easy ways to get 'er done:
1.) Raking leaves.
2.) Mowing the yard.
3.) Walking your dog. (need a dog? look here)
4.) Window shopping. (for holiday gifts)
5.) Fun things to do while walking.

Shana tova umetukah to all!
